Magazine Design & Layout

Each month, I am responsible for the design and layout of a local church's magazine, "Branches." Since its first issue in 2021 with merely 4 pages, the publication has since grown to 24 pages each month. I collaborate with a small team to put the whole thing together; they provide the articles and I decide how to best display them for print, using photos, graphics, fonts and colours of my choosing.

The publication features diverse articles from church members and external sources along with other engaging content such as highlighted church events, kids' activities, book recommendations and reports from various ministries.

As the sole designer, "Branches" is a puzzle I enjoy having creative freedom over as it allows me to try new ideas with every issue. The publication slightly shifts in layout month to month but remains true to the inviting look and feel that the church stands by. A few sample pages are shown here.
